Bamboo in the home

BAICA

On a bright summer day, woven bamboo blinds are lowered over windows or wrapped around a small balcony to shield the interior from beat and sun.As evening approuches, lights are switched on-overbead fixture, perhaps a paper lantern with bamboo ribs that rests in the corner,or a paper globe in the entry. In late July,

flowers are arranged in a basket woven of golden bamboo, and in autumn, berries and dried leaves fill a rustic pack basket near the front door. These items are chosen to enliven the living space and are used on a daily baisic; they both support and modify the atmosphere established by the grden and architecture.

In contenpoary as in traditional space, bamboo offers aesthetic and symbolic link between the natural and the manmade.

Japan's traditional architecture. It is part of the genious imagination to be able to design one space for multiple functions,in part through the use of temporary ,portable dividers. For example, the separation of inside from outside,so symbolic in Japanese culture, can be quickly achieved through the sliding panels a part of traditional architecture.
